From your State Representative
The motorcycle season is coming and the issues are heating up! There are several legislative bills going to sub-committees regarding helmets and ATVs. Our Chapter’s Legislative Representative is Hunter John Harris and he is on top of it. Be sure to read his articles and better yet – attend our chapter meetings because that’s were he can give us all the details.
We have received insight that Peoria & Tazewell counties have received funding for police Roadside Checks this spring. We all know that there is a better use of our tax dollars and A.B.A.T.E. is at work pointing this out to our state government leaders. In the meantime, be prepared and know your rights!
I now have the 2010 bike raffle tickets. This year there are 8 Great Prizes including a 2010 Harley-Davidson Deluxe, Grizzly 80 4-wheeler – DR-Z 70 Dirt Bike - $400 - $300 - $200 - $100 – 5 year ABATE membership They sell for only $5 each and come in books of 10. Let’s really make a great showing for PEO-TAZ A.B.A.T.E. and sell more tickets than ever! I am hoping each and every one of you will send me an email and volunteer to sell at least 1 book of 10 tickets. Send me an email and I will make arrangements to get these tickets to you.

- A.B.A.T.E. OF ILLINOIS annual LEGISLATIVE DAY is Thursday March 11, 2010. This is your opportunity to meet your legislators and other elected officials
- FREEDOM RIDE - the 20th Annual Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Rally is Sunday May 2, 2010. We will all be meeting and riding down to Springfield together.
